Whoever you paid to write this new version did not bother to even test it. It fails. Not once - every time. No thanks. A quality app is what we need out here for news and weather. This is a joke

Not a big fan of the latest version which appears to integrate the Weather app into the New app. Takes too long to load and to long to get to find what Im looking for inside the app, for weather. I would prefer you to go back to a separate weather app. When I want to look at weather conditions I dont want to have to look at news stories too! Also, the app appears to only work in vertical mode on my ipad. Not cool at all!

First of all no landscape mode for my iPad. Thats a big miss. Every time I bring the app up it bombs out. Never had any issues with old release. Solution: delete the app. Even the old version wasnt that good anyway.

This app is terrible. Dont waste your time downloading it because youll just end up deleting it. I wouldnt even have tried it but they changed their weather app so it asks you to to download it EVERY time you open it. Im going to delete it also and get a watcher app that isnt messed up!!!

This app only shows which news stories are available. When you choose one, it takes you to Safari to read the article or hear that individual video. You have to go back to to the app to access additional stories. Just bookmark their website and get the same thing.

Imagine my surprise as I opened the new app and found the entire page sideways. Are you kidding me? For many years weve been using iPads in cases and covers meant to sit long dimension left and right as designed (lower center of gravity, less tipping, you get the picture). So upon downloading the new app I find the screen doesnt turn with the iPad! How to solve the problem? Delete the app. Other news stations work just fine.

I cant believe anybody thought this would be an upgrade. It doesnt rotate to landscape the weather radar looks like a cheap toy and gives no storm tracking info which is my main use of the app. I wish we could give negative stars, cmon channel five put this thing in the trash and use what you already had it was far better than this even if it was two separate apps. Come on nbc get with it and make this app better than it is.

Sad that you disabled the old app in favor of this. The old one was not very good, but at least it worked and didnt crash. As other reviewers have indicated, the new app supports portrait mode only, landscape mode is not supported (on Air2). NBCDFW News department - We tuned into the broadcast for a reason. Do us a favor, respect our time by providing full story coverage during the broadcast! Please stop referring viewers to your app that doesnt work. And we dont need to waste additional time trying to navigate your website.

Cant view in landscape. How is that better? Please go back to that feature. Ill stick with the old version for now. The old version will not work. Please bring it back, or fix this one so it can at the very least viewed in landscape.

Used this app everyday before update. Will not use it any further. Gone to CBS 11. Portrait only is crazy!!!

First you make me go out of process to update the app. Then the Apple only show in one mode? Really? It is a rare occasion when I use my iPad in portrait mode. As is the case with most people I know. You lost me real quick on this one. Off to CBS for my news and weather.

Crashes, laggy, a piece of crap.

This "new" app continues to crash. I click on a story to read and there is no way to get back to the home page like there used to be. I enjoy using the NBC5 app,but make it work good, this upgrade needs work! ;-(

I understand pushing information but this app is beyond intrusive when it comes to notifications. The weather alerts are customizable (15 of them?!) but news alerts are not and they push at all hours of the day and night with 75% garbage. If you can work past the poorly thought out notification system, the app isnt too bad. But youll spend hours clearing notifications before you actually get to the app. Take a step back you guys and think about the user as this experience is terrible.

First complaint: No rotation. None. I can handle having to use portrait mode, but it doesnt even flip upside down. So if Im charging my iPad, I cannot use this app at all, since its not a good idea to stand up the iPad on the cable while its plugged into the charging port. Second complaint: the sidebar navigation doesnt always respond. I find I have to close and reopen the nav bar in order for it to respond. Other times, collapsing and reopening that section might make it start working. Third complaint: When in the app, why are you advertising to download your app??? I cant tell you how many times Ive swiped away an ad for the exact app that Im already in! It makes no sense! Ive always been a loyal NBC fan, but this makes me want to try out the other local channels... Even the FOX app is better than this. :(

Over 90% of the time when I click on a pushed story or a story I find within the App it never loads. I end up closing the app and jumping to the WFAA App to read the article. You have to fix this problem or I might as well delete the App.

App is messed up since the last update. If you read an article you are stuck on that article...there is no way back. Fix the app!! And enough with the notifications every 15 minutes over everything!!

Terrible and unusable.

Portrait only mode is unacceptable. Will remove app for this reason.
