Why is this app showing 2,000 notifications on my phone when I open the app there’s no 2000 notifications I keep clearing the notifications and the hundreds and thousands of notifications come back and yes my phone and app are updated

I didn’t lose any sleep during that time forward I lost an hour work.

News alerts and reminders, are often repeated twice or more in the same subsection and remain for days and weeks. “Latest and Top” news should be merged. Way too much high school sports. Not everyone is interested In metroplex high schools.. which is more often than not the schools that are covered.

The weather part of this app is total garbage. Right now the top portion says the current condition is 54° at 6:00pm, but the daily conditions below says the high for today is 79°. It never got out of the 50s the whole day. This is as bad as the goofy guy they have doing the weather at 5:00 & 6:00. He’s the worst. Not sure he knows any more about the weather than their app.

Cannot watch weather on demand. Have up to date iOS, up to date app, unstable. Saturday for example it ran for 57 seconds of a 2:47 video, and suddenly stopped and reset as if I’d never touched it. It is repeatable. Sunday 2:55 video started with car ad. Only got to see 13 sec of video before it went back to main page. Repeatable. By the way, able to watch a 13 minute news video on Dallas healthcare. But can’t watch the weather.

Constant commercials. The content or information you’re looking for isn’t available or is embedded in a lengthy video. Alerts do not provide the specific information it claims you will receive: again, it’s embedded in a lengthy video. Useless “alert” app.

App Does not close

The new update does not have the wind direction on the first screen as it did before. It has mpr but no direction. I like the direction because I have horses and it makes a difference in the actual temperature outside so I can determine whether the horses stay in the barn or outside and how heavy of a blanket to use on them.

Once again the app has been disimproved. Use the Fox 4 Wapp in dallas if you want to know whats going on.

I love the weather and news. The radar and forecasts are the best I’ve found locally so far. HOWEVER- for the love of God, give us an option to tune our weather alerts to local weather alerts only. I don’t want 45 alerts about hurricanes on the east coast or wildfires in California. Those aren’t weather alerts. They are news stories, which I have turned off.

I’ve had the app for a while and I love it. Lately, I’ve been having an issue with news alerts. Though I’ve okayed all types of alerts, I’m not receiving any. Problem started about three weeks ago and coincided with my having installed a VPN. But I’m still not getting alerts even when the VPN is inactive. Update: The alerts returned as soon as I uninstalled the VPN. Why aren’t to two compatible?

When I really need to see the weather, the app freezes and I have to keep closing and reopening it over and over and over. And I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, and also making sure it’s up to date. Still, same issue on my phone, my wife’s phone, and our iPad. Get your act together NBC. It’s a great app when it works but it’s super annoying app when we need to know the status of an incoming storm.

I’ve had this app for several years now and I’ve always loved it. I usually use it only for the weather section. But recently in the last year, it’s been glitching and hasn’t updated the time or the date correctly in the Weather section. I’ve had to delete the app and reinstall it now twice. when I open the app, it’ll say it’s 4 AM or some other time of the morning when it’s actually 2 PM in the afternoon. And I’ll close it and reopen it several times and sometimes it will update then but lately it hasn’t even worked so I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall again.I hope they work out these bugs because it’s really annoying.

When the app works it’s great, and I love NBC news. But both on my phone and iPad, most of the time when I open the app it freezes. It takes me several times of closing it out before it decides to open.

Kevan and Vince did a superb job tonight. I have been watching 5 since the days of Harold Taft, and he established a standard of excellence among weather reporters when he hired David Finfrock. Years later, David hired Rick Mitchell, another true professional, and now he has added Kevan to the stable of excellence. Other stations have attempted to get on top of the weather watching viewers, but this team cannot be beat. Congratulations to the entire weather reporting team. Collectively, they are the greatest! This app does not allow you to save a specific location and name it. Instead you have to choose a specific city which may not be near you. You cannot set up specific alerts for a single location. You cannot set up alerts with a location setting of “while using app”. You have to set ALWAYS allow tracking with this app. Big brother is watching. Try Fox 4 WAAP app for weather news. It allows you to do all the above and more

Constantly freezes when it switches to the weather tab. Even if you open and close it, it opens in the same tab and remains frozen. It’s a shot in the dark if it’ll actually work or not and most of the time it doesn’t. The weather notifications are nice but the story notifications are too much and you can have between 5-15 a day and it gets annoying. The biggest drawback as I said is the main thing I use it for, weather, rarely works.

After warning everyone to stay home Sunday because of weather. Sunday night you decide to report you were correct. Problem is there was a playoff game going into less than 2 minutes and a one point difference in score. Hope your news producer enjoys the Heidi award. Well deserved

The app won’t load data more than half of the time I open it.

I have had this app on my phone for years. It has never worked properly. It constantly freezes when trying too open app. I have deleted it and try bringing it back on occasion to see if it has been fixed. Nope. Still freezes. I have other weather apps on my phone and do not experience performance issues with them. It’s a shame the developer can’t get this fixed because on the rare occasion when it works, it has the potential to be a good app. Save yourself the frustration and use another weather app.

The app show several hours behind when I open for current weather. It’s almost 11pm and app shows weather from 4pm saying “Now”.

Recently there are random pop up full screen ads that appear. It’s a shame.

This app used to be consistent & useful. The last 12+ months it constantly freezes. Only keep it because when it is actually working the weather side is the most accurate forecast & radar for our area.

I keep seeing the same news story in my feed being repeated 5 different times with varying paraphrases of the same headline. I would LOVE if every link actually led to a new story. Half the time, the sound on the videos doesn’t even work. The breaking news articles can be irritating to read through as it’s flagged as having updates but you have to read the same five paragraphs for a one sentence update. Don’t even get me started on the weather radar, I couldn’t count on a correct forecast if my life depended on it. Please, please fix. Thank you

I have downloaded and deleted this app many times in the last couple of years and it is without a doubt, very poorly constructed. It constantly - and continually has for ages - freezes. This has been an ongoing problem the developer seems to have no interest in fixing. It does not run in the background - something you definitely want with Texas weather!— but you can’t keep it open or refresh it because it’ll freeze. I made a comment on here years ago that this app needed help but so far no one has done anything to fix the problems. Nothing has changed…. Look at all the reviews that say the same thing. Save yourself a lot of grief and don’t download this app! Find one that works because they are out there… sadly it’s not this one!

I love the news station, particularly the meteorologists. They are usually spot on with forecasts. What I dislike, is this app. The weather portion freezes up frequently. It did the same thing on my previous iPhone as well, so it isn’t the phone. Streaming is iffy at best. I have tried removing then reloading the app to no avail. This has been going on for years.

The app fails to load until trying it about three or four times, then it might load on my iPhone with the latest software.

When it works, the app is great. However, most of the time, the app does not load. When I open it, the screen is frozen. I have to open and close it out several times before there is even a chance of it working.

Great app to have on your phone to check on this unexpected Texas weather. Thank you so much for keeping us informed.

This app has very little local news. The only reason I downloaded the app was to be aware of local activity in my city. All day I’m being notified and reading about national pop culture and simple events, like ‘national hot dog day’. The city I used to live in, their news app was top tier compared to this one.

Cowboys can play, but weathers doesn’t matter?

I don’t even live in Dallas - I’m near Austin- but this App is so great about current weather alerts and notifications!! It’s more accurate than any of the Austin-based apps I’ve tried. I appreciate the news alerts from local, state, and national thanks to this one. It’s been over 30 years since I lived in Dallas, so hearing about news stories there is nice, too.

This app is pissing me off whenever I want to check the weather I have to open and fully close the app about 10 times just to get it to load completely. I go to check the radar and the second I hit play it glitches and everything disappears off the map.

Used to live this app. I was on it multiple times a day to review items but now I cannot get the app to fully open. No matter if I refresh the app, redownload, or select notifications, it won’t open.

This app refuses to load correctly on my new iphone 14. Used to be a great app. Iv tried everything it will not load correctly.

I love the weather part of this app when it works. It tends to freeze up, can’t get the radar or scroll on the weather tab. I love the radar, the 10 days of weather and the ability to watch Rick or whatever weather person is giving updates during storms. But just like many months ago, the app has been frozen for weeks. Restarted my phone, no help. Reloaded the app before and it didn’t help. Usually I have to log out of everything else to get it to work but nope that doesn’t work right now either. I even have the latest phone and more than enough space / capacity. Please fix this.

We love watching channel 5 news app. We depend on Rick Michell forecast. He’s the Best Chief Meteorologist we’ve experienced. Only problem we have is the app has a problem with updating itself time wise & it’s usually slow to respond.

Every time I try to open the app it freezes while loading and have to swipe up to clear and reopen 6-10 times before it finally loads. Completely unusable

Used to be so reliable now it hardly ever works. Even opening and closing multiple times won’t work.

News is heavily tilted to certain liberal and political agenda.

I downloaded this app because I wanted accurate weather data that the Apple weather app can’t seem to give me. But it seems like every day when I open the app to check the weather, it doesn’t work. I see a temperature range but no description of the weather or forecast. It’s really disappointing in my opinion.

Very frustrating! I have all of my other apps working but this one. The whole app is frozen no matter how many times I close it completely and reopen it. I will try a reboot but this happens more than not. I shouldn’t have to reboot my phone for an app to work like all the other ones I have. I don’t want to change to a different local weather either. I like this channel most.

I have used this app for years but lately it is unusable. It freezes upon opening 95% of the time.

App freezes on the weather. Does not matter that I clear the app by swiping up on iPhone to close out of it.

I like using this app since it has local weather along with local news. Nearly anytime I open it trying to check the weather it completely freezes the app and I have to repeatedly force close and reopen it until it finally loads the weather tab without freezing. It has been like this for quite a while. I’m moving on to something else, I cannot stand this thing.

Used to be a great app. Locks up all the time now. Please fix it!
